The 10th anniversary conference of the U.S.-Ukraine Foundation “Ukraine in Washington” took place in Washington D.C. from May 11 to May 13, 2021. In order to strengthen a strategic partnership between Ukraine and the United States, promote peace and prosperity on the basis of common democratic values, a number of events were held in which key politicians and experts, including representatives of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (KPI), were involved.
Supported by the Washington-based U.S.-Ukraine Foundation, the Igor Sikorsky KPI representatives discussed new opportunities for cooperation and prospects for the future with American government officials on May 13. The main topic of conversation was the international festival of innovative projects Sikorsky Challenge. Mykhailo Zgurovsky, Rector of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, gave a presentation of the All-Ukrainian innovative ecosystem Sikorsky Challenge.
For the first time, conference participants learned about the Sikorsky Challenge ecosystem last year when it was showcased among a number of Ukrainian companies at an online exhibition.
To date, the Sikorsky Challenge ecosystem has been completely updated, five universities joined the platform, and several startup schools opened throughout Ukraine. According to the parties, Sikorsky Challenge has positive influence on the development of Ukraine’s economy, as it becomes a model and driver of the innovative high-tech development in this country.
Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute is very grateful to American colleagues for the invitation. We look forward to fruitful, mutually advantageous cooperation in innovative development.
