Ten winners of the joint acceleration program, developed by the University of Sheffield (TUoS) and the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (KPI), have visited Sheffield from August 19 to 24 to participate in the final phase of the project.
Students and entrepreneurs had the opportunity to develop their innovative projects within the framework of the joint initiative titled “Building Back Better: Transforming the Postwar Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in Ukraine”. In this project KPI represented the Sikorsky Challenge startup school.
The joint project aimed to promote Ukrainian startups and contribute to the recovery of Ukraine’s entrepreneurial ecosystem in the aftermath of the war.
Throughout the program, 50 startup project teams from various regions of Ukraine registered for participation. Subsequently, a British jury shortlisted 10 teams to then go to accelerator. These teams presented various projects designed to develop modern technologies and tackle pressing global problems.
During their visit to Sheffield, team representatives participated in various training sessions and workshops organized in collaboration with TUoS. Trainers and mentors shared their best practices and the expertise to prepare and pitch presentations, as well as discussed strategies for startup acceleration.
The culmination of the visit featured project presentations to representatives from British investment companies on the final day. Participants had the opportunity to showcase their innovative solutions, attracting potential investors and industry contacts for further development.
All participating teams rose to the occasion, impressing representatives from investment companies who took a keen interest in further cooperation.
