The Huawei Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Academy at Ukraine’s Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (KPI) was recognized as the best Huawei Academy of 2021.
The HUAWEI ICT DAY 2021 took place at the Parkovy Convention and Exhibition Center in Kyiv on November 30, 2021. The KPI delegation including Nataliia Seminska, Vice-Rector for Education, and representatives of the Faculty of Radio Engineering (FRE) and the Institute for Telecommunication Systems (ITS) participated in the annual event.
Oleksii Assaul of the Faculty of Radio Engineering and Nataliia Seminska gave the presentation entitled “Partner Ecosystem, ICT Academy Program. Experience of Cooperation of Strategic Education Partner – Igor Sikorsky KPI”.
KPI and Huawei Ukraine have a long history of collaboration that has already delivered many outcomes. One of them is the launch of full-scale operation of the Huawei Academy established at KPI in 2020. Currently, more than 170 KPI students are taking the Datacom course, the only educational program translated by Ivan Chornyi of the International Collaboration Department from English into Ukrainian.
To ensure the operation of the academy, Huawei Ukraine donated UAH1 million worth of equipment for scientific and educational purposes. FRE and ITS instructors were certified in the HCIA-Datacom course. The Datacom laboratory has been established and the course added to the University curriculum for the 2021-22 academic year.
All this demonstrates the importance of cooperation between KPI and Huawei as the illustrative example of university-to-business (U2B) strategic partnerships – and internationalization plays its necessary role.
