Kyiv Polytechnic Lyceum student wins gold medal, special award at the 7th International Invention Innovation Competition in Canada

Andrii Mavrin, 11th grade student at the Polytechnic Lyceum under the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (KPI), achieved a victory at the 7th International Invention Innovation Competition in Canada, iCAN 2022. He won a gold medal and the Canadian Special Award of Excellence from the organizers of the competition, namely the Toronto International Society of Innovation & Advanced Skills (TISIAS).

Specifically, Andrii Mavrin submitted a presentation of his project on processing of tires by cryo-vibrating method. Student’s supervisor is Oleh Kozlenko, head of the research laboratory of cryogenic technology at the KPI Faculty of Physics and Mathematics.

This year, the 7th International Invention Innovation Competition in Canada, iCAN 2022 was held online on August 27.

iCAN is the world-recognized premier event of Canada for inventors which has shown continuous growth and improvement since its first edition in 2016 through 2022 with each year breaking the previous year’s records for the total number of participants, countries and collaborating organizations. Last editions of iCAN from 2016~2021 featured participants from 86 different countries around the world which elevated and redefined iCAN to be the true global stage for merging worldwide creativity and innovation in Toronto, Canada.

The main purpose of iCAN is to build a special platform to unite creativity and innovation initiatives of Canadian inventors with the rest of the world by providing everyone with the golden opportunity to expand their international network, business activities, promote their inventions, new products and research projects while achieving a new milestone of success of winning iCAN Awards from Canada.
