Course fees and the graduate application fee will be waived by Oxford University, with each scholar receiving free accommodation and meals, as well as a £7,500 grant to support their study and living costs
Oxford University is to launch a scholarship scheme for Ukrainian refugees whose lives have been turned upside down by the Russian invasion.
The university said the scholarship would give Ukrainian students “a chance to rebuild their lives” amid the “immense suffering” of the war.
The Graduate Scholarship Scheme for Ukraine Refugees will run from this September, with up to 20 scholarships awarded to graduates who are ordinarily resident in Ukraine.
It will provide free places on the university’s Masters courses for “well-qualified graduates from Ukraine whose lives have been badly impacted by war”, with the goal of helping these refugee scholars to “better contribute to the reconstruction of their country”.
Refugees will be able to apply for a full-time, one-year course, with the scholarships co-funded by Oxford and participating colleges.
