Arizona State University initiates meeting to understand needs, challenges facing Ukrainian institutions

A Zoom meeting at the Ukrainian-U.S. president/rector level took place on May 3. It was arranged by the Arizona State University to support higher education continuity in Ukraine and help confront challenges brought about by the Russian invasion.

Mykhailo Zgurovsky, Rector of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (KPI), offered the American partners to cooperate in two priority areas with KPI. The first area of cooperation may relate to research and innovation activities converged on the ecosystem Sikorsky Challenge, and the second priority area is defined as space research. “Our University takes a keen interest in the development of space technologies,” said the KPI Rector.

In addition to KPI, the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, Ukrainian Catholic University, Lviv Polytechnic National University, Karazin Kharkiv National University, Sumy State University, and the Kyiv School of Economics participated in the meeting. Representatives of each institution exchanged their thoughts on the support that U.S. universities can provide.
