Recently, Mykhailo Zgurovsky, Rector of Ukraine’s Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (KPI), gave an interview to the popular science newspaper Svit published by the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
According to him, research institutes, high-tech business, and administrative bodies have long been seen as the main drivers of innovation processes in Ukraine. Universities were not considered as serious stakeholders and equal partners in these processes. But a situation is changing rapidly.
Mykhailo Zgurovsky explained why universities are in the forefront of progress in developed nations, and provided insight into KPI’s mission as a research university as well as into successful startups created at KPI.
