Spanish businessman Miguel Martin visited the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (KPI) on September 6. He is the startups investor and President of the WBAF UN SDGs Sub-Committee on Science, Technology, and Innovation.
During the meeting with KPI’s administration, Mr. Martin said the purpose of his visit to Ukraine was to build the bridge between Ukrainian and Spanish ecosystems in university and entrepreneurial spheres, particularly establishing cooperation between businesses and investors through interaction with the Sikorsky Challenge Festival of Innovation Projects.
In the course of talks, Mr. Martin invited Ukrainian startups teams, including KPI students, to participate in Spanish startup events that could contribute to a greater internationalization of the innovation sphere.
Specifically, Mr. Martin stated his intention to propose to the Embassy of Ukraine in Spain that Ukrainian startups should be encouraged to enter competitions in that country and thereby pitch their new technology solutions to international experts and investors. At the same time, they may well establish close ties with Spanish partners in the innovation sphere.
As a result, the parties have agreed on establishing cooperation and are ready to set about drawing up documents concerning cooperation, which will offer greater opportunities.
