Anastasiia Kurulenko, 11th grade student at the Polytechnic Lyceum under the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (KPI), has won a bronze award at I-FEST², the International Festival of Engineering Science and Technology, that took place in Mahdia, Tunisia, this year.
Kurulenko’s scientific project is a program developed to identify risk groups for cardiovascular disease (CVD). Specifically, the software system is intended to identifying people most at risk of cardiovascular disease in the course of a survey even at the workplace, giving them a timely appointment with their family physician.
The program is based on 10 most important cardiovascular risk factors. Patients undergoing testing are divided into high, medium, and low risk groups. The user who conducts the survey gets the pie chart automatically generated by the Kurulenko’s program, which shows the percentage of people in three risk groups.
I-FEST² is a nine-day festival organized by ATAST, the Tunisian Association for the future of Science and Technology, open to all students between the ages of 14 and 24.
This year about 1,500 participants from 35 countries showcased their projects.
It is worth noting too that Anastasiia Kurulenko won a gold medal at INOVA 2022, the 46th International Invention Show, that took place in Osijek, Croatia, in mid October 2022.
